Pi Network Issues Critical Node Upgrade Deadline to Bolster Decentralized Infrastructure
The Pi Core Team has announced a mandatory upgrade to Protocol 22, requiring all node operators to update their systems by April 27. Failure to comply will result in disconnection from the network. This move is designed to ensure synchronization across the decentralized ecosystem, which utilizes the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) instead of traditional Proof-of-Work mining.
Unlike Bitcoin or Ethereum, Pi Network's architecture enables nodes to reach consensus through trusted groups, emphasizing accessibility via desktop and laptop participation. The latest version (0.5.4) is now available for Windows, macOS, and Linux users.
